Grades Conversion

The Centre is responsible for conversion of grades from the foreign grading system to the Lithuanian grading system for those who are applying to Lithuanian higher education institutions through  the common admission system (LAMABPO).

Eligibilty to apply

You can apply for conversion of grades if:

  • your qualification has been recognised as gving access to higher education by our office or one of the higher education institutions listed here
  • you are eligible to apply for a state-funded study places in Lithuanian higher education institutions.

1. Application form

Applications for grade conversions are accepted annually from mid May to August during the common centralized admissions period. Yuo can apply through the EPE IS system online.

2. Form of identification

A valid form of identification is a passport, a national identity card issued by an EEA or EFTA country, or a Lithuanian residence permit. If your name in the credentials differs from the name in your passport, a valid proof of name change has to be submitted. A valid proof of name change is considered to be: marriage certificate, divorce certificate, or another form of proof issued by a competent official body.

3. Diploma/Certificate The diploma or degree certificate has to be final and in the original language. If the final diploma is yet to be issued, please include a provisional certification, which confirms the fact of your graduation and provides the title of your qualification in the original language.
4. Academic Transcript The academic transcript, records of grades, or a similar document has to be in the original language. It should list all the subjects, grades, and, if applicable, credits and/or hours. For some countries, it is required for the academic transcript to be sent directly to our office from the educational institution.
5. Examination results (if applicable) If you have taken any school leaving or centralised admission examinations and their results were issued as a seperate document, you should attach it to your application form.

6. Recognition statement

If your qualification was recognised by one of the Lithuanian higher education institutions, you shold include their recognition statement with your application form.

We also also welcome submission of any documents and/or information related to your studies that you may find to be relevant. Please note that the Centre reserves the right to ask for additional documents and/or information.

Application submission

Application for recognition are submitted digitally through the Electronic Recognition Area (EPE), accessible at https://epe.skvc.lt.

After registering an account at EPE you will be able to submit applications, see the status of submitted applications as well as received decisions for recognition.

Application processing

Applications are accepted starting from 12 May and are reviewed within 15 office days. If the provided information is insufficient, you will be notified about this by e-mail and the processing of your application will be suspended until the required documents are received.

Costs

The procedure is free of charge. The Centre will not cover any costs related to the submission of the required documentation. The Centre is not responsible for any loss or damage of documentation during shipping.
