Internal Quality Assurance: Linking Central Administration and Academic Units

On 28th October, 2015 the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education in Lithuania organised an international seminar “Internal Quality Assurance: Linking Central Administration and Academic Units”. The target group of the event was representatives of Quality Divisions at higher education institutions.

Prof. Freddy Coignoul, who is a Honorary Vice-Rector at the University of Liège, took a role of a key speaker and presented the challenges and the opportunities (in relation to the University of Liège case) higher education institutions experience in performing the evaluation of central administration. Assoc. Prof. Mari-Jose Bezanilla, being responsible for educational innovations at Technical Unit of Innovation and Quality at the University of Deusto, presented a model to assure quality in teaching at the University of Deutso. Head of the Study Programmes Quality Management Division at Vilnius University Assoc. Prof. Daiva Lepaitė shared her observations about creation of academic learning community.

The second half of the seminar was dedicated to group sessions where participants of the event had a possibility to discuss an impact of central administration in assuring quality of studies. The group sessions were moderated by Prof. Freddy Coignoul and Assoc. Prof. Daiva Lepaitė.

At the end of the seminar the discussions of the group sessions were summarised and presented to the audience.

 The seminar is from series of annual events organized by SKVC to community of Higher Education Institutions. The aim of such seminars is to bring specialists and discuss relevant topics, share experience, support networking of quality officers of HEIs. Participation of foreign experts in such events is traditional to SKVC.
