An external evaluation of Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences will take place

On 3 – 5 October 2017, an external evaluation of Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences (hereinafter - LEU) will take place. LEU is the main institution in Lithuania involved in teachers' training. The first external review of LEU was held on 24 – 26 April 2012. Following negative assessment by international panel of experts SKVC awarded the University 3 years accreditation. The decission of accreditation came into force only in April 2015 after repearted hearings in Court. The Court confirmed validity of SKVC decision.

During the review four areas of activity are assessed: Strategic management, Studies and lifelong learning, Research and art, and the Impact on regional and national development.  The area of Strategic management was assessed negatively in 2012, consequently LEU was given a general negative assessment.

The panel of experts who will evaluate activities of LEU consists of: Bastian Baumann (Germany), Chairman; Katja Žibert Kamšek (Slovenia), Secretary; Prof. Eve Eisenschmidt (Estonia); Prof. Daire Keogh (Ireland); Saulius Jurkevičius (Lithuania), employers representative; Uršulė Sadauskaitė (Lithuania), student.
