Changes in the required documentation for recognition

2017-03-31

Applicant seeking recognition of their higher education or secondary education qualifications for the purpose of employment or further study from the 1st of April, 2017 will have to provide additional documents, supporting their reason and purpose for seeking recognition.

This document, called a "Proof of Purpose",  should be issued by an employer or a higher education institution registered in Lithuania and should indicate that they are considering you for admission to further study or employment. If you are aiming for several purposes, e.g. employment and further study, then you would only have to provide 1 proof of purpose from either of the institutions in question.

Such a document should be e-mailed to us directly by your potential employer or higher education institution directly to enicnaric@skvc.lt, alternatively it can be sent to us by post or submitted in person at office room 1-18, A. Goštauto str. 12, LT-01108, Vilnius, Lithuania.

You do not need to provide a proof of purpose if:

  • you are a citizen of an EU or EEA member country or their family member
  • you are a refugee/in temporary protection or are waiting for the decision on granting refuge or temporary protection
  • you have a permanent residency permit in Lithuania, but are not a Citizen of an EU or EEA country or are a stateless person
