Ms N.Skaburskienė won the competition for SKVC Director's position

A competition for SKVC Director's vacancy for 4 year term announced by the Ministry of Education and Science has been won by Ms Nora Skaburskienė who has temporarily held SKVC Director's position so far.

"This is an excellent professional achievement and expression of her competencies both in management and the subject. Nora Skaburskienė has been working in SKVC for 15 years, has the internal knowledge of the organization, has good understanding of the specificity of our domain and requirements that apply to SKVC both as a public institution and as an international member of community of similar organizations. During this time she gained recognition in academic community in Lithuania and was evaluated internationally.

I am sure this is the best candidate to lead our team toward the main goals of the organization such as promoting the quality of Lithuanian higher education, the culture of quality, creating favorable conditions for educational and professional activities, achieving the compatibility of Lithuanian higher education and the rest of European higher education area", - Ms Aurelija Valeikienė, SKVC Deputy Director, said.

N. Skaburskienė worked as Acting Director of SKVC from 2013, also in the period of 2009-2010. Earlier N. Skaburskienė held position of SKVC Deputy Director, worked as a Head of SKVC Insitutional Review Division. N. Skaburskienė started her SKVC career in 2001 as a Senior Specialist.

Starting from 2014 N. Skaburskienė is a member of CEENQA Board, and in 2016 elected as a member of ENQA Board.

According to Lithuanian law, SKVC is managed by a Director that is elected for a 4 year term in a way so that more than a half the selection commission would be represented by SKVC Board members. The same person can serve in the Director's position not more that twice in a row.

In total three candidates took part in a competition where two of them were external ones (were not SKVC employees).
