SKVC listing in EQAR extended

2018-01-10

Listing of SKVC (Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education) in the European Register for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (EQAR), which is the register of trustworthy agencies, once again is extended.

The current decision by EQAR‘s Register Committee is made on the basis of a positive evaluation report by ENQA panel. The Register‘s Committee concluded that SKVC worked in compliance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG), thus, acted in a professional manner, and that the Centre had addressed evaluation recommendations of 2012 and made improvement in a number of areas.

„We are proud of SKVC being full member of ENQA and re-listed in EQAR, this is our achievement. Not all quality assurance agencies in Europe successfully pass ENQA review, and of these not all are included into EQAR, even though they strive for it, since high quality is expected“ – said Aurelija Valeikienė, Deputy Director of SKVC.

All applications of external quality assurance agencies wishing to enter the EQAR or re-new their listing, are considered in the light of results of their self-evaluation and external review by ENQA panels. Agencies have to be externally evaluated by independent international experts groups, that include academic and student members. The Register‘s Committee analyses the documents submitted and makes decisions in its own right on how quality assurance agencies meet the expectations of ESG.

The EQAR‘s Register Committee made some remarks, that were already analysed and discussed with SKVC Council members, appropriate action is being planned. You can access EQAR’s decision in full here.

SKVC will remain in the EQAR until June 30, 2022 when its activities will be repeatedly externally evaluated by an international panel.
