SKVC co-organized the Bologna Process Implementation Conference in Vilnius

SKVC (Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education) worked together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania, the Education Exchanges Support Foundation (SMPF) and the national experts for higher education to organize the international conference aimed at quality assurance issues in higher education under the Bologna Process, which took place on March 30, 2016 in Vilnius.

The conference was dedicated to discuss the tasks ahead in implementation of changes after adoption of new documents in Yerevan in 2015, both on European and national level. In focus of the discussions at the event were such themes, as development of external and internal quality assurance in higher education, involvement of students in quality assurance processes and student centered learning. Presentations were delivered by Mr Lucien Bollaert (EQAR Register Committee Vice-Chair, visiting professor at three universities the US and Europe); Mr Lee Jones, Associate Director, Collaborative Provision, Quality Assurance Services, Leeds Beckett University (United Kingdom); Mr Paulius Baltokas, President of the Lithuanian National Union of Students, Mr. Andrius Zalitis, Vice-president of the Lithuanian National Union of Students; dr Giedrius Viliūnas, Vice-Rector of Mykolas Romeris University.

Mrs Nora Skaburskienė, Acting Director of SKVC introduced to the overall results of the first cycle of institutional reviews of HEIs in Lithuania. Mrs Aurelija Valeikienė, Deputy Director of SKVC moderated a discussion group on external quality assurance. The bilingual publication, containing analysis of 2011-2015 external review results as well as a survey of HEIs, was distributed during the conference. The event gathered participants from Lithuanian universities and colleges of higher education, staff members of SKVC and SMPF, the Ministry of Education and Science, guests from abroad. The conference was organised under and financed by the Erasmus+ KA3 EHEA reforms project.
