ENQA experts reviewed the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education
March 14-15. The group of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) experts reviewed the Centre for Quality Assessment of Higher Education.
The visiting group consists of experts from Great Britain, Germany and Lithuania: Mr. Julian Hiller, German student, Assoc. prof. dr. Vaidotas Viliūnas, director of Marijampolė College of Higher Education, dr. Giedrius Viliūnas, Pro-Rector for studies of Mykolas Romeris University, Mr. Nick Harris, review chair, Bologna expert, former director of QAA, and Mr. Andy Gibs, secretary of review (Edinburgh Napier University).
During the first day of the visit experts met staff of the Centre and visited the Ministry of Education and Science where the meeting with vice minister Nerija Putinaite took place.
During the second day meetings with members of the Council of the Center, students, heads of higher education institutions and members of Centre advisory bodies were held.
The aim of the visit was to analyze how the Centre maintains European standards for quality assurance in higher education and to review internal quality management system of the Centre.
Experts will announce conclusions of the review by the end of May.
It is expected that positive evaluation gives the Centre an opportunity to become a full member of ENQA and to submit an application to be included in the Register of Quality Assurance Agencies (EQAR).
