Legal Acts of Lithuania

List of national legislative documents and/or full texts.

At present higher education system in Lithuania is regulated by three laws, more than 20 Resolutions of the Government of Lithuania and 15 Statutes of Higher education institutions approved by the Seimas. The three laws are:

Lietuvos Respublikos istatymas del Vilniaus universiteto Statuto. 1990 m. birzelio 12 d.

The Law of the Republic of Lithuania Concerning the Approval of the Statute of Vilnius University (I-281, adopted on June 12, 1990).

Lietuvos Respublikos đvietimo istatymas. 1991 m. birzelio 25 d.

The Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Education (No. I-1489, adopted on June 25, 1991).

Lietuvos Respublikos mokslo ir studiju istatymas. 1991 m. vasario 12 d.

The Law of the Republic on Sciences and Studies (No. I-1052, adopted on February 12, 1991.

European Convention on the Equivalence of Diplomas Leading to Admission to Universities, 1953.
Convention on the Recognition of Studies, Diplomas and Scientific Degrees in the States Belonging to the Europe Region, 21 December, 1979. Lithuania joint the Convention in 1994.
Convention on the Recognition of the Qualifications concerning Higher Education in the European Region, 1997. Lithuania has signed but not ratified the convention yet.

Statute on the International Co-operation in Quality Assessment of Higher Education in the Baltic States.
