The Council of the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education
The Council of the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (further on – the Council) is the collective governing body composed of 11 members. 1 member for a period of 6 years is delegated by the Committee for Education and Science by the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania, 1 member for a period of 6 years is delegated by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania, 2 members for a period of 6 years are delegated by the organisations representing universities, 2 members for a period of 6 years are delegated by the organisations representing colleges, 4 members for a period of 6 years are delegated by the organisations representing the social partners, 1 member for a period of 2 years is delegated by the organisation representing the students.

The Council performs the following functions:
- participate in the appointment of the Director of the Centre in accordance with the procedure laid down in the Law on Science and Studies;
- consider and approve the vision and mission of the Centre, as well as the strategic plan of activities submitted by the Director, as agreed with the Ministry;
- propose to the Director and discuss the Centre's annual operating plan;
- consider and approve the Centre's annual activity report submitted by the Director;
- make proposals for the improvement of the organisation of the institution's activities, quality assurance of studies, academic recognition of foreign qualifications and other issues in the field of higher education;
- prepares and publishes its own annual operating report.
