Starting from this year, all applications to the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC) should be submitted online at https://epe.skvc.lt/.

Changes caused by the pandemic COVID-19 will be taken by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education into account while providing recognition of the 2020 acquired foreign access qualifications to higher education. Decisions regarding recognition of the qualifications will be taken with regards to the requirements set for the qualifications to enter higher education in their home countries this year.

The Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC) is launching a new cycle of external evaluation of higher education institutions of Lithuania in 2020. The evaluation will be carried out according to the new procedure, which is regulated by the legal acts that came into force in March 2020. The external evaluation of higher education institutions is entrusted to the SKVC, which organizes the evaluation process with the help of external experts.

The Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC) informs that as of 16 March, in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, visitors will temporarily be served remotely. Consultations will be provided by phone and email, while applications will be accepted online. Applications for academic recognition of foreign qualifications are accepted via the Electronic Recognition Area (EPE IS).

As of 3 March 2020, all applications for academic recognition are submitted to the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education via the Electronic Recognition Area (EPE IS) on https://epe.skvc.lt/.  EPE IS enables the academic recognition procedure online, ensuring the quality of the process and its integrity, the accumulation of existing practice and its uniform application.

Following the completion of the AR-net project coordinated by the Dutch ENIC/NARIC centre NUFFIC and with the participation of the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC) as a partner of the project, publications for automatic recognition of qualifications in ENIC/NARIC networks have been released.

On 14 February, a meeting with the students’ representatives of Lithuanian higher education institutions – student forum was organized by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC). During the meeting, students’ involvement in the study evaluation process and other questions were discussed. The representatives of SKVC also introduced the upcoming national student survey system.

On February 6-7, the 18th International Exhibition of Learning, Studies and Career Planning “Studies 2020” was held at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre LITEXPO. Throughout the exhibition, specialists from the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC), together with representatives of other educational institutions, welcomed visitors to the common stand of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports.

Today the international conference on Higher Education Quality, Accountability and Transparency, organized by the Center for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC), is taking place in Vilnius. During the event, international experts and stakeholders from Lithuania will discuss quality of higher education studies and the challenges in assuring it.
