ENQA follow-up visit to the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC)

2019-10-29

29th October 2019 the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education is hosting experts from the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA): Dr. Jacques Lanarès (University of  Lausanne, Switzerland) and Michèle Wera (Quality Agency NVAO of the Netherlands and Flanders). Together with SKVC leaders, Council members and staff they discuss the Centre's progress in implementing recommendations for improvement that were made during the external evaluation in 2017. This meeting is one of the follow-up activities of the external evaluation. During the meetings the experts are introduced with SKVC actions to improve quality assurance in higher education according to the European Higher Education Area Quality Assurance Guidelines and Regulations (ESG). Centre plans to discuss not only the experiences of other European countries that could be used in SKVC activities as per analysis of the work already done, but also the activities that should to be implemented additionally.

During the visit, the discussions take place referring to the Centre’s follow-up Report provided in summer of 2019, for which SKVC received a very positive evaluation from the ENQA Board.

Follow-up visits, unlike regular external evaluations, are not compulsory for quality assurance agencies in Europe. The Centre is constantly learning, analysing and improving its performance and is therefore taking advantage of this opportunity provided by ENQA.

All documents related to the external evaluation of the SKVC can be found here.

The original and the Lithuanian version of the guidelines and provisions for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) are available here.
