On 21 June, representatives from three Algerian universities and Agriculture Academy of Vytautas Magnus University visited the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC). During the meeting with SKVC management, the activities of quality assurance agency and evaluation process of higher education institutions were discussed.
Algerian institutions of higher education were interested in the organization of the external evaluation of Lithuanian universities and colleges and the evaluation of internal quality assurance systems. Recommendations made by the experts during such evaluations as well as the examples of good practice mentioned in the experts' reports were also discussed.
The delegation from Algeria is visiting Lithuania under the EU-co-funded ERASMUS+ project “Internal quality assurance system for agriculture and biosystem engineering-related HEI of Algeria”. The project partners are Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy from Lithuania, Life Science University from Estonia and three Algerian universities, namely the National Higher Education School of Agronomy, the National Higher Education School of Hydraulic, and the National Higher Education School of Biotechnology.
The project shall run from November 2018 until November 2021. The main objective of the project is to enhance the management, governance and innovation capacities, as well as the internationalization of HEIs in Algeria.
