SKVC participated in ENQA’s events

2022-06-07

In late May of 2022 in Cologne, Germany SKVC has participated in two different events of ENQA. ENQA’s third Seminar for Recently Reviewed Agencies took place on 30-31 May 2022 and ENQA’s seminar for agencies planning to undergo a review in 2022-2023 – from 31 May to 1 June 2022.

In the Seminar for recently reviewed agencies Aurelija Valeikienė the Deputy Director of the SKVC and a member of the Agency Review Committee have presented observations about recurring issues in external quality assurance agency reviews against the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the EHEA (ESG). Her analysis was based on the most recent 14 agency review reports. Her report stated that the most challenging standards for the quality assurance agencies around EHEA are the following six:

  • on the strategic alignment of activities;
  • professional handling of complaints and appeals;
  • on consistent follow-up;
  • on thematic analysis;
  • on safeguarding independence and resources;
  • also due consideration of effectiveness of internal quality assurance at the higher education institutions.

Aurelija  Valeikienė previously was involved in more than one agency review of German agencies as coordinated by ENQA. Therefore, she was invited to the roundtable disscusion on division of roles and responsibilities in reaching compliance with the ESG in the German external quality assurance framework.
In ENQA’s seminar for agencies planning to undergo a review in 2022-2023, Aurelija Valeikienė and Ieva Vaiciukevičienė, Head of the Legal and General Affairs Division of the SKVC had a joint presentation entitled “Initial experience on targeted reviews – case study of SKVC, Lithuania“.
