On 11-12 May 2023 the annual meeting of representatives of ENIC/NARIC Centres of Baltic States was held in Riga. The latest news and changes in the field of secondary and higher education were introduced during this meeting.
The representatives of Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian ENIC/NARIC centres exchanged the latest information on education systems, as well as on implemented activities in 2022 and partnership in the international projects. The results achieved in the field of academic recognition of foreign qualifications were also presented during the meeting. The representatives also looked into the education systems of foreign countries and their practice of qualification recognition.
Recognition of Ukrainian qualifications was a relevant topic of this year’s meeting. The representatives of ENIC/NARIC centres discussed about exceptional and complicated cases of Ukrainian qualifications and their evaluation and recognition.
The question of state level programs in Baltic countries which encourage return of emigree communities and attract talents from abroad was included in the agenda of the meeting for the first time. 
The Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education which entered into force on 5 March 2023 was presented in this meeting as well. There were discussions held on implementation of this Convention in the Baltic countries. Also, the issue of automatic recognition was included in the agenda of the meeting as well as interesting and complicated cases of various foreign qualifications and discussions on their assessment and recognition.
Next year the meeting of Baltic ENIC/NARIC Centres will take place in Lithuania.
