On January the Ministry of Science and Education (MSE) signed a decree which granted Mykolas Romeris University and LCC International University (LCC) the right to perform recognition of foreign qualifications.
The decentralisation of the system of academic recognition of Lithuania initially started in 2012. It will allow to speed up the rates of admission of international students. The authorization to recognize qualifications has been awarded by the Ministry of Science and Education following an evaluation of high school proposals by a special commission.
The following universities have aslo been authorised to perform recognition of foreign qualifications: Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas University of Technology, ISM University of Management and Economics, Aleksandras Stulginskis University, Vilnius University, Vilnius Gediminas University, The Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. It is expected that other higher education institutions will also seek for the right to perform recognition of foreign qualifications.
