Two Twinning Project missions completed to North Macedonia

As consortium partner, SKVC is contributing to Twinning Project “Further support to the implementation of the National Qualifications Framework” (MK IPA 17 SO 01 21) activities in North Macedonia.

So far, two missions have been completed in 2022; both were aimed at the review of methodological and legal regulations on the national qualifications framework (NQF) in line with the policy and legal framework for external quality assurance in higher education and VET conducted in accordance with an inclusive and evidence-based approach. On both occasions an extensive list of documents were analysed, a number of local stakeholders were met and discussions held, sets of recommendations produced regarding proposed amendments to North Macedonian legislation and implementation of the best European practices.   

The 1st mission took place on January 10-14, 2022 and included a mixed group of higher education and VET sector experts from Croatia, France, Lithuania and Slovenia; in it SKVC was represented by Ms. Aurelija Valeikienė, Deputy Director of SKVC. The 2nd mission on February 7-11, 2022 due to extreme difficulties in travel caused by Covid-19 pandemic, was transferred online – experts from Croatia, Lithuania and Slovenia connected with local participants by the videoconference facilities. This time SKVC was presented by Ms. Aurelija Valeikienė, Deputy Director and Ms. Ieva Vaiciukevičienė, Head of General and Legal Affairs. In this mission, not only round table discussions were held, but also targeted presentations were made on donor country experiences in development and maintenance of quality assurance framework for higher education and VET, and the common features of the European approach towards internal and external quality assurance of higher education in line with the joint agreements in terms of Bologna Process reforms. 

The third mission, to conclude activities of the first two missions, will take place in a physical mode on February 28 – March 4, 2022 in Skopje, North Macedonia. See more information about the project here and here.
