As of 3 March 2020, all applications for academic recognition are submitted to the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (hereinafter referred to as SKVC) via the Electronic Recognition Area (EPE IS) on https://epe.skvc.lt/en/.
”From now on, all applications for academic recognition are accepted by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education online. In order to apply for academic recognition, you will no longer need to come to the Centre and you will be able to do this from home at any convenient time, from anywhere in the world. The decisions will also be issued electronically and signed by e-signature“, says Aurelija Valeikienė, Deputy Director of SKVC.
The modern Electronic Recognition Area (EPE IS) is a unified information platform via which the following services are provided:
- Academic recognition of foreign secondary and higher education qualifications (except doctorate degrees);
- Conversion of grades for those who are applying to Lithuanian higher education institutions through the common admission system (LAMA BPO);
- Provision of information on Lithuanian higher education qualifications;
- Submission of appeals against the academic recognition decisions made by SKVC;
- Submission of appeals against the academic recognition decisions made by Lithuanian higher education institutions.
EPE IS enables the academic recognition procedure online, ensuring the quality of the process and its integrity, the accumulation of existing practice and its uniform application.
Applications for academic recognition will be accepted both via EPE IS and in writing until 17 March 2020. As of 18 March 2020, applications will be accepted via EPE IS only.
During the transitional period from 3 March 2020 to 17 March 2020, SKVC will input all the data from the written application (submitted directly or via post) into EPE IS. Such applications will be processed only after the applicant confirms his/her registration on EPE IS with the e-mail specified in the application form.
As of 18 March 2020, applications for academic recognition will be accepted via EPE IS only. Written applications will no longer be accepted and the applicants who did so will be notified by e-mail of the possibility to register and submit the application via EPE IS. No information from external media will be accepted upon request by an applicant upon arrival at SKVC.
